Wow! Last week was one for the books and I am glad it is over. I won’t get into details about what happened but it started out one way and ended in a completely different direction. The only things that got me through it was my sweet husband, my family and my friends.
It was last night that I started thinking back to my childhood and wondering how my parents got through anything. They moved away from their families when I was very young so we didn’t have them to help out, they also stayed very secluded. Probably because of their addictions. So they never had any friends come over. It was just the two of them against the world and it was really miserable for my sister and I.
I guess that is why friendship and family are so important to me. I love hosting family gatherings at our house and having all of the nieces and nephews over to spend the night. I love girls nights and looking at all of the beautiful pictures of my friends kids on Facebook. It just makes me happy and I never take it for granted. My family is always there for us the second we call them and my friends are the best!
When the day comes for us to leave this world it is those things that are going to matter. Not the house, the car, the money. It’s all about the relationships you built and the decisions you made.
So true.
What does the ‘n signify?
The n in Poke n Grits. I guess it signifies a little bit of everything. Thanks for stopping by!
